
BlackRock invests €100m in Linkem
US-listed buyout house BlackRock has provided €100m of capital to Italian wireless broadband services provider Linkem.
According to a statement, the GP acquired a stake in the business alongside existing investors, the holding company Leucadia National Corporation and the asset management firm Cowen Group.
With this investment, the company claims to have received total cash injections of €500m from its shareholders. Additional financial details surrounding the transaction have not been disclosed at the time of publication.
Linkem is looking to use the capital injection to expand its broadband fixed wireless network across the Italian market and aims to cover 80% of Italian households with its services.

Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Rome, Linkem provides wireless broadband services and employs a staff of 700. The company claims 400,000 subscribers, providing services in 18 metropolitan areas in Italy, including Rome, Florence, Palermo, Bari, Turin and Naples.
