
Evolution Equity Partners backs $3.5m round for DFLabs
US-based private equity firm Evolution Equity Partners has invested $3.5m in Italian startup DFLabs, bringing its total funding to $9m.
As part of the deal, Evolution's partners, Richard Seewald and Dennis Smith, have joined the company's management board.
Evolution is currently investing from its Evolution Technology Fund, which launched in 2015 with a target size of $125m. The fund held its first close on $70m in September 2015 and exceeded its target at final close in July 2017.
Previous funding
In May 2016, Evolution led a $5.5m series-A round for the cybersecurity software provider to boost its expansion, open new offices in the UK and the US, and develop new products.
Company
Founded by private investor Dario Forte and based in Milan, DFLabs is a cybersecurity service that specialises in security automation and orchestration technology, developing incident and breach response software for intelligence-driven security operations. Its flagship product, IncMan, is used by 100 clients in Europe and North America.
In 2017, DFLabs doubled its revenues, signing multiple new enterprise clients, including Fortune 500 and Global 2000 companies.
