Quaestio Capital backs Industrie Saleri
Quaestio Capital has acquired a 26.6% stake in Industrie Saleri Italo, an Italian producer of water pumps for the automotive industry, in a deal valued at €15m.
The €15m injection is part of a wider €23m capital increase, with the remaining €8m invested by the Saleri family, who will retain the remaining majority stake of 73.4%.
Quaestio is deploying capital from its Quamvis SCA Sicav Italian Growth fund, launched in June 2015. The vehicle targets Italian mid-market companies, investing in private businesses with high-growth potential and a plan to go public in the short term. The fund has already acquired minority stakes in Sabaf, Tecnoinvestimenti, Fila, Openjobmetis, Bomi and Aquafil, all trading on the Italian stock exchange.
With the fresh capital, Saleri intends to strengthen its position globally, reinforce its international expansion strategy and support the development of its automated production of new cooling systems. The company plans to list on the Italian stock exchange by 2021.
