Vesalius et al. lead $4.6m round for Sword Health
Vesalius Biocapital and Green Innovations have led a $4.6m funding round for Portuguese startup Sword Health, which specialises in digital physiotherapy programs.
Several European and US private investors also took part in the funding round.
The company will use the fresh capital to boost its growth and global expansion, while developing new digital therapies and further clinical trials.
Vesalius deployed capital from its Vesalius Biocapital III fund, which held a first close on €65m in May 2017. The vehicle targets later-stage European life sciences companies that specialise in drug development, medtech, diagnostics and e-health.
Company
Based in Porto and founded in 2014, Sword Health develops a digital physiotherapy platform named Sword Phoenix, which offers patients task-specific programs for interactive rehabilitation exercise by using motion tracking devices and providing real-time feedback during treatment. The company employs 35 staff and has users in Portugal, Norway, Canada, Australia and the US.
