Magnum Capital buys Aire Networks
Magnum Capital has acquired a majority stake in Spanish telecoms operator Aire Networks.
Following the deal, the company's founders will stay on with the business and retain a minority holding.
Aire plans to use the fresh capital to support its strategic expansion plan, focused on three main objectives: internationalisation; the extension and consolidation of the company's network in Spain; and the development of new activities within the cybersecurity and internet-of-things sectors.
The GP is deploying capital from Magnum Capital II, a vehicle launched in October 2014 with a €500m target. Aire is the sixth acquisition made by the vehicle, which has deployed around 60% of its capital.
Company
Founded in 2002 and based in Alicante, Aire is a telecoms operator providing coverage to 90% of the Spanish territory through optical fibre, radio and its own licensed band in the 2.6 GHz spectrum. The company employs 140 staff and generated revenues of €35m in 2017.
