Vertis invests €3m in Sclak
Italian GP Vertis has backed Internet-of-Things specialist Sclak in a €3m funding round.
The GP deployed capital from its Vertis Venture 2 Scaleup fund, which was launched in July 2017 with a €60m target and held a first close in August 2017 on €30m. Italian-state-backed Fondo Italiano d'Investimento acted as anchor investor for the fund via its €163m venture capital fund-of-funds, providing €17m.
Sclak intends to use the fresh capital to further develop its digital platform and expand internationally, especially in France, the UK, Hong Kong and Australia.
Company
Founded in 2014 and based in Milan, Sclak provides an access control system able to manage different locks via a mobile application and a digital platform. The company generates 30% of its turnover abroad, with its main focus on Italy and Spain.
