GPF Capital acquires Grupo EDT
GPF Capital has bought a majority stake in events business Grupo EDT from the company's founders.
A debt package provided by Caixa and BBVA was used to partially finance the transaction.
The GP deployed capital from its GPF Fund II, which held a final close on €150m in October 2017.
EDT will use the fresh capital to bolster its growth and expand further internationally, especially in Latin American.
Following the deal, founders Bosco González del Valle and Juan Castillejo de Orio, and managers César González, Baltasar Busto and David Berraco will retain relevant minority stakes in the company and continue to lead the business.
Company
Founded in 1987 and based in Madrid, EDT organises events, and has several international and Spanish brands within its clients base, including Telefónica, Santander, BBVA, Iberdrola, ACS, Endesa, Ferrovial, Inditex, Cepsa, Mapfre, Gamesa and Real Madrid. The company employs 80 people and expects to generate revenues in excess of €25m in 2018.
