Abac acquires Motocard
Abac Capital has acquired a majority stake in Spanish motorcycle accessories and clothing retailer Motocard.
The sellers are the company's founders, who retained a significant minority holding and will continue to lead the business.
Unquote understands that Banco Sabadell, Santander and Bankia provided a debt package to finance the deal.
The GP deployed capital from its Abac Solutions I fund, which held a €320m final close in May 2016 and targets Spanish mid-cap businesses.
The company will use the fresh capital to expand internationally by opening additional stores and growing its online network.
Company
Established in 1982, Motocard is a motorcycle accessories and clothing retailer that sells its products via its website and in 12 stores located across Spain. The company is headquartered in Barcelona and has a logistics centre in Solsona.
