Diana Capital's Grupo Lappí bolts on Grafica Calipolense
Spanish label producer Grupo Lappí, a portfolio company of private equity firm Diana Capital, has wholly acquired Portugal-based Grafica Calipolense from the company's founders, the Carrasco family.
The GP told Unquote that the acquisition was financed through a previous capital increase injected by Diana Capital into Lappí. Following the acquisition, the group will employ 250 people and generate a turnover of around €30m, including €10m from Calipolense.
Diana Capital plans to further boost Lappí's expansion both in Spain and internationally, primarily in Portugal, France and Italy, and intends to pursue a buy-and-build strategy by completing additional add-ons in the coming months.
The GP acquired a 46% stake in Lappí in May 2017 as part of a capital increase, while the company's chair and sole shareholder prior to the transaction, Antonio Lappí Perea, retained the remaining majority holding in the business. The GP deployed capital from its €110m Diana Capital II fund.
