Palamon carves out Business School24 from Il Sole
Palamon Capital Partners has increased its stake in Business School24, the education and training unit of Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore.
The GP, which already owned 51% in the company, has bought the remaining 49% from Il Sole 24 Ore for €21.5m. The deal does not include the events division of the company, which will be bought back and wholly controlled by Il Sole 24 Ore.
Palamon initially acquired a 49% stake in Business School24 in August 2017, in a deal that valued the company at around €80m. Subsequently, the GP increased its ownership to 51% in May 2018 by acquiring an additional 2% stake for €1.6m.
Company
Established in 1991 and headquartered in Milan and Rome, Business School24 provides business education, including masters and professional courses, as well as internships and training. It enrols more than 26,000 students per year and offers courses both in classrooms and online.
