CDP Venture Capital leads €5m round for Brandon
CDP Venture Capital-Fondo Nazionale Innovazione has led a €5m funding round for Italian e-commerce specialist Brandon Group.
Venture capital house Primomiglio and Vulcano, the investment holding of private investor Fabio Cannavale, also took part in the round.
CDP Venture deployed capital through its platform Fondo Nazionale Innovazione, which provided €3.5m via its two funds Fondo Italia Venture I and Fondo Italia Venture II.
The company intends to use the fresh capital to consolidate its market position in Italy, expand across Europe, scale up its team and pursue a buy-and-build strategy.
Previous funding
Brandon raised a seed round of €600,000 from Digital Investments in August 2012.
Subsequently, Primomiglio and Invitalia Ventures led a €3m funding round for the company in November 2018. Vulcano, Sella Ventures (the VC arm of Banca Sella), e-commerce specialist Sinergenis and logistics expert Ecilog also took part in the investment.

Founded in 2012, Brandon provides software, big data and analytic tools to help fashion, sport and beauty retailers build their online marketplace and increase their visibility across target segments.
The company is headquartered in Milan with an additional office in Naples. It generated EBITDA of around €1m from revenues of €21m in 2019, and turnover of €15m in the first half of 2020.
