
Aurica Capital invests in SamyRoad
Aurica Capital has made a minority investment in Spanish startup SamyRoad.
With this investment, Aurica has become the largest shareholder in the business. The firm intends to support the company in further expanding its customer base, boosting its international development and broadening its innovation capabilities.
This is the seventh deal made by Aurica. Other noticeable investments made by the firm include solar tracker manufacturer STI Norland; restaurants operator Larrumba; and outsourcing company Winche.
Previous funding
SamyRoad raised €3m from Barcelona-based VC firm Caixa Capital Risc in 2014. Several private investors, including the Bulgari family and business angels such as Jesús Olmos, also took part.
In addition, the company received funds from the state-backed Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology, a programme that supports the technological development and innovation of Spanish companies.
More recently, Spanish VC house Inveready led a €1.4m funding round for SamyRoad in July 2018. The VC house deployed capital from its Inveready Venture Finance II fund, which held a final close on €23m in 2016. Sabadell Venture Capital, the VC division of Banco Sabadell, also took part in the investment.

Founded in 2012, SamyRoad is a marketplace that connects digital creators with brands to identify influencers and produce advertising campaigns on social networks.
The company operates within 26 markets and 12 different industries, including food, beverages, banking, entertainment, fashion, automotive, technology and travel.
Headquartered in Madrid, SamyRoad employs 100 staff in its 14 offices located in various countries across Europe and the Americas.
The company generated EBITDA of €4m from revenues of €19m in 2020.
