
Critical Ventures backs Watchful Software
Critical Ventures I Fund, in conjunction with Critical SGPS, has provided funding for Portugal-based information security technology company Watchful Software.
Watchful span out of international software services firm Critical Software. The funding will accelerate Watchful's expansion into international markets and grow the offering for existing customers. Critical ventures invests up to €1m in seed and early-stage rounds.
Company
The company's RightsWATCH and TypeWATCH technologies were incubating in Critical SGPS for two years until they reached market-ready status and span out into a seperate business in 2012.
RightsWATCH is a data-centric information security solution, while TypeWATCH is a persistent eBiometric software solution. Both technologies offer security platforms for businesses across information-heavy industries such as the government, defense, finance, energy and telecommunications sectors. The company is based in Coimbra.
