Beechbrook backs Plan.com and Infomedia
Beechbrook Capital has invested in business communications provider Plan.com and billing provider Infomedia from its SME credit fund.
Beechbrook provided a unitranche loan to help buy out a minority shareholder in Infomedia.
The details of the Plan.com funding were not disclosed, though the investor said the financing aims to support rapid subscription growth.
UK SME Credit I Fund held a final close on £150m in February 2017. The fund aims to fill the gap left behind by both traditional lenders and fellow credit funds, which have typically focused on larger businesses. It has now made eight investments.
The fund previously provided a £7.5m unitranche facility to Chinese food takeaway chain Hotcha Group. The company declined to comment on whether the Hotcha investment included an equity element but stated that it provides flexible funding packages to finance non-private-equity-backed SMEs.
