
Exponent's Photobox to bid for Cimpress's Albelli
Exponent Private Equity portfolio company Photobox is among a number of bidders looking to acquire Netherlands-based photo printing company Albelli from its parent group Cimpress, unquote" has learned.
Oakley Advisory has been appointed by Cimpress to find a buyer, an industry insider told unquote", with three Dutch private equity firms also reportedly in the running.
It is understood Exponent is currently in the market looking to raise capital to fund the potential bolt-on of the company.
Exponent and Epiris (then named Electra Partners) acquired London-based Photobox in October 2015 in a deal understood to have been worth around £400m. The business was previously backed by a consortium of investors including Highland Capital Partners, Index Ventures and HarbourVest Partners.
Exponent is invested in the business via its third fund, which held a final close on £1bn in April 2015.
Oakley had not returned requests for comment from unquote" at the time of publication, while Exponent declined to comment.
