Aurelius opens new London office, appoints two
Aurelius Group has appointed PwC's Philip Stoner and Deloitte's Daven Chopra as investment associate and operations manager, respectively, in its London office.
The development coincides with the GP's move to a new London office to accommodate the expansion of its UK-focused team and to bring together its equity and finance divisions.
Stoner (pictured) joins the firm after six years at PwC, which he joined directly from university. He was promoted twice during his period at the advisory firm and was most recently a manager in the transaction services team. In that position he worked on buy-side, sell-side and refinancing transactions for both private equity and corporate clients.
Chopra joined Deloitte eight years ago, also directly from university, and moved from the firm's London office to its New York office in 2015. He leaves his role as strategy and operations consultant at the advisory firm, fo which he focused on both business strategy and the implementation of large-scale transformation programmes.
Aurelius launched its UK office in 2013 and has since increased the team's headcount from five people to around 20. The GP's recent investments in the country include the carve-out of book retailer Connect Books from its parent Connect Group and the secondary buyout of multi-channel retailer Ideal Shopping Direct from Blackstone.
