Bamboo appoints Milligan as head of diversity
Bamboo Capital Partners has appointed Katherine Milligan as head of gender and diversity.
In her new role, Milligan will work with Bamboo fund managers and its investment committee to focus the firm's policy on the financial inclusion of women. She will also lead Bamboo's partnership with Care Enterprises to invest in growth-stage companies in south and south-east Asia. Milligan is joining the company in its Geneva office.
Prior to joining Bamboo, Milligan acted as executive director at the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. Prior to that she was an associate director at the World Economic Forum and a director in the Peace Corps.
Since its inception in 2007, Bamboo has raised more than $370m. Based in Luxembourg, the firm mainly invests in emerging markets and focuses on social impact investments.
