Less than half of UK GPs report in detail on ESG impact – survey
Less than half (48%) of UK GPs report in detail on the ESG impact of their investments, according to a survey conducted by advisory firm BDO.
The survey reviewed the ESG policies of 100 sponsors with UK operations.
The 48% figure for GPs who report on the ESG impact of their investments in detail is unchanged compared with the 2020 survey, according to a statement.
However, more than half (55%) of UK-based private equity firms have been making their strategies more focused on ESG, according to the survey. The same portion demonstrated this to the survey in 2020.
The survey showed that more than half (55%) of the UK sponsors who took part are signatories to the UN's Principles of Responsible Investment.
Almost a third (29%) of respondents have a dedicated team or individual responsible for ESG, versus a quarter in the 2020 survey, indicating that the importance of ESG reporting is growing.
