17Capital promotes three to partner
Private equity portfolio financing provider 17Capital has announced the promotion of David Wilson, Emad Shahin and Fokke Lucas from managing director to partner in its London office.
Wilson joined the firm in 2019 and is co-head of credit, as well as an investment committee network. During his time at 17Capital, he has developed the firm's NAV lending offering and supported the fundraising for the firm's new Credit Fund. He has prior experience with JP Morgan and Lehman Brothers.
In addition to his new role as partner, Shahin is general counsel at 17Capital. He has worked on every transaction made by 17Capital since joining in 2019, according to a statement from the firm, including the firm's first NAV lending deal. Shahin previously held roles with JP Morgan and Nomura.
Lucas joined 17Capital in 2012 and has competed 23 transactions during his time at the firm, 11 of which have now been fully realised, according to the statement. Before joining the firm, he worked at Lehman Brothers' European Mezzanine Group, as well as its spin-out, Neovara.
The new partners bolster the firm's partner circle, which previously comprised managing partners Pierre-Antoine de Selancy, Augustin Duhamel and Robert de Corainville.
The promotions come just weeks after the firm announced the EUR 2.6bn final close of its debut Credit Fund, as reported.
In March 2022, 17Capital announced a strategic partnership with Oaktree Capital Management, which saw the firm sell a majority stake to Oaktree.
