HIG Capital hires Madsen from BC Partners
HIG Capital has hired BC Partners’ Stephan Madsen as a managing director in the firm’s London-based European Middle Market LBO team.
In his new role, Madsen will focus on the Nordics, according to a statement from HIG.
Madsen has more than 12 years of private equity industry experience, according to the same statement. He spent five years with BC Partners, most recently as a managing director, and previously spent more than six years at IK Partners.
The European Middle Market team is led by Markus Noe-Nordberg, who joined the firm in 2019, having previously worked at Pamplona Capital.
HIG held a final close for its latest European Middle Market LBO fund in September 2021 on EUR 2bn. The strategy focuses on both profitable and underperforming manufacturing and services businesses, investing via buyouts, recapitalisations and carve-outs.
HIG’s recent European mid-market deals include the acquisition of Travis Perkins’ plumbing and heating business in May 2021, as well as its acquisition of France-based fast food chain operator Quick Restaurants from Burger King France in August 2021.
In addition to its Middle Market LBO strategy, HIG manages a range of strategies in Europe and the US, including real estate, direct lending and a lower mid-market private equity strategy.
