
Squire Patton Boggs poaches Gateley’s head of corporate
Global law firm Squire Patton Boggs has hired Tom Durrant, former head of Gateley’s national corporate practice, as a partner in its Birmingham office.
Durrant, a corporate M&A and private equity lawyer, will lead the firm's corporate practice in Birmingham, overseeing the firm's ongoing expansion of its UK and cross-border corporate and private equity transactions, according to a press release.
Prior to becoming head of Gateley’s corporate division in 2015, Durrant spent eight years as a partner and senior associate at the Birmingham-based firm. Previously, he was a senior associate at Browne Jacobson for three years. He started his career as a solicitor at Edge Ellison, according to LinkedIn.
His experience spans cross-border acquisitions and disposals, private equity and venture capital transactions. Recent work highlights include advising NorthEdge on its investment in Correla, an energy technology and data business serving the UK gas industry, according to the press release.
Other recent hires include Anthony Guillaume and Benjamin Marché as partners in its Paris office, as well as Sara Belotti as partner in Milan, in May 2022, as reported. Maxime Dequesne was hired as a senior partner in the law firm’s corporate practice team in Paris, as reported.
