King & Spalding hires Sims to strengthen funds offering

Law firm King & Spalding has hired private funds lawyer Stephen Sims as a partner in its corporate, finance and investments (CFI) group in London.
In his new role, Sims will be part of King & Spalding’s private funds and alternative capital team.
Sims joins from MJ Hudson, where he was a fund formation partner. Prior to this, he was a partner and the European head of investment management. He has experience with private equity, real assets, infrastructure and energy vehicles. Sims has advised on mandates including capital raising and secondary fund transactions.
New York-based partner Todd Holleman heads King & Spalding’s CFI practice. Recent additions to the team include Peter Memminger, who joined the firm’s Frankfurt-based team in September 2022, as reported. In September 2022, private equity partner Paul Barron joined the firm’s London team after a 19-year stint at Dickson Minto.
