Maven Capital Partners backs Flexlife
Maven Capital Partners has led a £5.5m investment in Aberdeen-based Flexlife.
This first round of expansion funding for the fast-growing energy services business also includes a commitment from specialist energy investor Simmons Parallel Energy.
The team-up between the two investors helped them to see off stiff competition from a number of other interested private equity houses.
Flexlife, which provides subsea project management and integrity management solutions to the oil and gas sector, has grown swiftly and organically since its foundation by Stuart Mitchell and John Marsden just three years ago.
Without external backing or bank debt, the company has become a highly profitable business, with annual revenues of £5m and a client base that includes blue-chip organisations such as Total, Shell, Apache and Maersk.
The new funding package is intended to fuel Flexlife's next major phase of development.
