Inflexion hires LDC's Wormald as partner
Inflexion Private Equity has hired Carl Wormald as a partner, based in the firm's Manchester office.
He will focus on investment opportunities in the north of England. Wormald joins from rival mid-market firm LDC, where he was most recently head of the investor's north-west operations. He was notably involved in the MBOs of ANC, British Salt and Bifold.
This is not the first time Inflexion has tapped into the LDC talent pool in recent months – in September 2014, the firm hired John Harper as an investment director.
Inflexion raised more than £1bn via two funds – Inflexion Buyout Fund IV and Partnership Capital Fund I – in October last year. The buyout fund closed on £650m, while the Partnership fund closed on £400m.
The GP has remained busy in the first half of 2015, notably on the exit front. It scored a 14x multiple on the sale of Aspen Pumps in February and generated an 80% IRR on the IPO of Sanne in March.
