Quadrivio’s Somacis buys Graphic
Quadrivio-backed Somacis Group has acquired British printed circuit board producer Graphic.
The deal follows a partnership agreement signed by the Italian and British companies in 2006. As part of the agreement, Graphic and Somacis founded an equally owned company based in China, Dongguan Somacis Graphic. As part of the deal, Graphic acquired a 13% stake in Somacis.
Quadrivio bought a 52% stake in Somacis in a €100m SBO in February 2016, while the management team owns the remaining 35% stake, according to press reports.
The transaction is the second for Quadrivio Private Equity Fund 3, which recently held a first closing on 130m.
Debt
A bank syndicate, led by Banca Popolare dell'Emilia Romagna alongside MPS Capital Services and Cariparma, provided debt facilities to support the transaction.
Company
Graphic was founded in 1968. The business manufactures rigid and flex-rigid circuit boards mainly for the defence, avionics and military telecommunications sectors.
Headquartered in Crediton, in the south west of England, the company has facilities in the UK, the US and China, and employs 625 people.
