BGF injects £10m into Kids Planet
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has bought a minority stake in UK-based childrenтs nurseries business Kids Planet for ТЃ10m.
BGF acquired its minority stake in the business from the founding family. The company aims to use the fresh capital to support its expansion through the opening of five nurseries during the next two years.
Kids Planet CEO Clare Roberts stated that the business had previously grown with backing from Barclays, before turning to an external investor for its next stage of development.
As part of the deal, BGF appointed Mark McMenemy - who has experience working with businesses including Mothercare, Monsoon and WHSmith - as non-executive director at Kids Planet.

Established in 2008 and headquartered in Lymm, Kids Planet provides nursery care and education services and manages 17 nurseries across the UK's north-west region.
