Beechbrook invests £7.5m in Hotcha
Beechbrook Capital has provided a ТЃ7.5m unitranche facility for UK-based Chinese food takeaway and delivery chain Hotcha Group.
The investment will enable Hotcha, which currently focuses on the west of England, to expand its geographic footprint across the UK. It plans to double its number of restaurants by March 2017.
Beechbrook refused to comment on whether the investment included an equity element.
The transaction marks the fourth investment from Beechbrook's UK SME Credit Fund, which held a first close on £100m in January 2016. The vehicle is backed by British Business Bank Investments and the European Investment Fund, among others.
Earlier this year, the fund invested in trampoline parks operator Oxygen Freejumping and comic convention business MCM Expo Group, as well as regulatory and credit risk analytics consultancy 4Most Group.

Founded in 2011 and headquartered in Bristol, Hotcha is a Chinese food takeaway and delivery franchise with 10 restaurants. The majority of its operations are in the south-west of England, though it also has a franchise in Liverpool.
