
BGF injects £3m into Direct Online Services
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has invested £3m in UK-based online kitchen furniture retailer Direct Online Services.
The fresh capital will enable the company to undertake an international expansion strategy, with a particular focus on the German and French markets. It will also look to expand its product range and invest in marketing activity.
The deal was made from BGF’s Bristol office and marks its second investment in the south-west of England this year, according to unquote” data. In August the GP invested £2m in Okehampton-headquartered waste management company Drainology.

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Gloucester, Direct Online Services operates nine kitchen retailing platforms including Worktop Express, Solid Wood Kitchen Cabinets, WEX Trade and DeTerra. The business focuses primarily on the sale of worktops, though it has recently expanded its product range to include sinks and cabinets.
In addition to its individually-branded websites, the company has four eBay shops, five UK showrooms and a fleet of delivery vehicles. Direct Online Services is anticipating a turnover of £25m in the current financial year. It has a headcount of 200 and already generates sales in Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic.
