Mobeus invests £2.2m in BookingTek
Mobeus Equity Partners has invested £2.2m of growth capital into London-based hotel booking platform BookingTek.
The funding will be used to grow BookingTek's team, expand into new countries and facilitate development of future products.
The company targets hotel groups that seek to encourage guests to book directly rather than through third parties. As part of the deal, Mobeus partner Trevor Hope will join the BookingTek advisory board.
Mobeus is currently raising its first institutional fund. Although no amounts have been confirmed, recent filings suggest the GP has raised £51m of commitments from three external LPs. The fund's overall target remains unknown but is believed to be in the region of £100-150m.
Company
London-based BookingTek, which was founded in 2011, develops software that aims to reduce hotels' reliance on third-party booking systems. It provides a booking platform for meeting rooms and restaurant reservations. The platform incorporates a payment processing system that enables hotels to make their products available on their own website.
