BGF injects £11m into Coppergreen Developments
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has invested £11m as part of a £25m funding package for UK-based holiday park operator Coppergreen Developments.
The fresh funding will enable the business to acquire the Piperdam Golf and Leisure Resort near Dundee, along with 350 acres of adjoining land.
Following the deal, Coppergreen will seek to build numerous additional lodges, both in its existing Woodland Lakes Lodges holiday site in Carlton Miniott, north Yorkshire, and its new location in Scotland.
The business has also appointed Sam Wall, who previously worked alongside Coppergreen to manage its portfolio of sites, as commercial director. BGF investor Barry Jackson will take a seat on the board alongside former Center Parcs founding director Steve Brown, who will take on the role of non-executive chairperson.
HSBC provided the remaining £14m by way of a debt facility, in order to support the expansion plans.
The deal brings the total amount invested by BGF to more than £1bn since its launch in 2011.
