BGF in £10m round for RSK Group
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has provided £10m in funding to RSK Group, a global environmental, health, safety and engineering services company headquartered in Cheshire.
The funding will support the group's acquisition of agricultural and environmental consultancy Adas, as well as its longer-term growth plans.
RSK's acquisition of Adas will add new services to its portfolio, including expertise in land management, crop and food production, specialist chemical risk assessment and town planning.
Ben Barker, portfolio manager at BGF, will be joining RSK's board as part of the deal.
Previous funding
In 2015, RSK secured a £33m direct loan from Permira Debt Managers to fund its next phase of international growth. Part of the debt financing would be used to fund the employment of an extra 120-200 staff to support ongoing transactions and expansions in the energy and infrastructure markets in Iraq, east Africa, western Europe and former Soviet states. Permira used the Permira Credit Solutions II direct lending fund.
Company
Founded in 1989 in Cheshire, RSK is an environmental consultancy group providing environmental impact assessments, clean-up operations and geotechnical analyses on major infrastructure projects in the UK and worldwide. The business has a turnover in excess of £100m and employs 1,500 staff worldwide.
