
Octopus leads £5m funding round for Elvie
UK-based Octopus Ventures has led a £5m series-A funding round for women's healthtech startup Elvie, alongside VC firm AllBright.
The company will use the financial support to expand its business in an additional 25 countries across the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. The company also seeks to launch the commercialisation of its second device before the end of 2017.

The company received £2.4m of seed funding in December 2013 and a further £1.2m in May 2014 from government grants.

Headquartered in London and founded in 2013 by Tania Boler and Alex Asseily, Elvie is a technology device startup focusing on pelvic floor exercises for women. Elvie operates in 59 countries and generated £1m in revenue from direct sales in 2016.
