
Sapphire leads $24.5m series-C round for Wandera
Sapphire Ventures has led a $24.5m series-C funding round for mobile security software developer Wandera.
The funding package comprises both equity and venture debt according to a source close to the situation. Also joining the round are previous investors in the company Bessemer Venture Partners and 83North.
The new capital will be used to build out the company's technology, infrastructure and team focusing specifically on data analysis. Andreas Weiskam of Sapphire will join the Wandera board.
Previous funding
This is the fifth funding round Wandera has held, bringing total capital raised to $50m.
A consortium of VC firms, including 14W, Index Ventures and Greylock Partners, provided Wandera with a $1m seed round in September 2012. Bessemer then led a $7m series-A in April 2013 before private investors funded another $3m round in May 2014. 83North then led a series-B for the company in February 2015 prior to the current round.

Founded in 2012 and headquartered in London and San Francisco, Wandera uses gateway architecture software to protect corporate data on mobile platforms. Its services are used by 500 corporations globally and the company processed 26 billion mobile web requests in 2016.
