Lower mid-cap private equity house Maven Capital Partners has invested £1.5m in Cheshire-based data and graphics startup Ebb3.
Maven put £1m into the firm with the potential for an additional £500,000 of follow-on funding. The funding from the Maven venture capital trusts will enable Ebb3 to take on more staff to expand as well as convert the current pipeline of opportunities, according to the VC.
Company
Founded in 2016, Ebb3 is a technology services business operating in a niche part of the high-performance computing market. It aims to deliver data-intensive 3D graphical applications to customers on any device and removes the need for businesses to maintain and run traditional fixed-location computer workstations across their organisations.
The technology is being adopted by a number of industries including energy services, construction and Formula 1, according to the company.
