Partech Ventures leads £12m series-A for Privitar
Venture capital fund Partech Ventures has led a ТЃ12m series-A round for London-based encryption software developer Privitar.
The funding round was led by the Paris-based GP alongside corporate investment group Salesforce Ventures and US-based CME Ventures, the venture arm of asset management firm CME Group. Additionally, existing investors IQ Capital, 24Haymarket and Illuminate Financial reinvested in the business.
Following the deal, the company intends to use the fresh capital to bolster product development, enhance its presence across the UK market and expand towards the US.

Founded in 2014, Privitar develops a software that removes sensitive identifiers from data, while allowing users to organise, analyse and share the data safely. The company's claims its products help clients comply with incoming legislation such as the General Data Protection Regulation.
Privitar is headquartered in London and operates across several industry segments, including financial services, telecommunications and pharmaceuticals, as well as government.
