
Mayfair takes majority slice of Promise Gluten Free
Mayfair Equity Partners has acquired a majority stake in bakery company Promise Gluten Free.
The growth capital investment will be used to fuel its international expansion, with a focus on the US, Europe and Australia. The deal is the sixth for Mayfair's £400m maiden fund, which closed last year after launching in 2014.
Robert Leechman, who has held senior positions at Mars, Coca-Cola Company, Pulse Home Products and Life Health Foods, will join the company as chair. Jeff van der Eems, former chief executive of United Biscuits, joins as a non-executive director.

Promise Gluten Free is a gluten-free bakery that was founded in 2011. It is a group of companies comprising Aran Ard Teoranta, which trades as Gallagher's Bakery, and Cuisine Royale Manufacturing. Its retail brands are Promise Gluten Free and PureBred Gluten Free.
