
Downing invests £2m in Anglian Country Inns
Growth capital investor Downing has injected £2m into UK hotel, restaurant and pub chain Anglian Country Inns.
The fresh capital will enable the business to invest in the redevelopment of barns at the former Redcoats Farmhouse Hotel and Restaurant in Hertfordshire for use as bedrooms and hospitality spaces.
The location was opened to the public in July 2017 following initial refurbishment and is the eighth bolt-on acquisition made by Anglian Country Inns.

Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire, Anglian Country Inns operates a chain of nine pubs, restaurants and hotels. According to publicly available documents, the business generated a turnover of £8.7m in the year ending March 2016, with £1.6m in EBITDA excluding head office costs.
