Palatine invests in Trade Skills 4U
Palatine Private Equity has invested in UK-based electrical training provider Trade Skills 4U.
The deal is the first investment made from the GP's impact investment fund, which held a first close on £50m in December 2016, with a £75m target and a £100m hard-cap.
Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, though the vehicle makes investments of £1-10m.
Following the transaction, Trade Skills 4U will undertake a nationwide expansion strategy and look to open a number of new training centres. The business most recently opened a new centre in Warrington in 2016.
As part of the deal, former Interserve chairperson, managing director and international board director Robert Vince will join the Trade Skills 4U board as a non-executive director.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Crawley, Trade Skills 4U provides electrical training courses, including apprenticeships.
