BGF invests £3.5m in Filmore & Union
Business Growth Fund (BGF) has invested £3.5m for a minority stake in north-of-England-based restaurant chain Filmore & Union.
The company will use the fresh funding to expand its restaurant portfolio across the north of England and the Midlands.
BGF has introduced former Frankie & Benny's managing director Kevin Bacon as part of the deal, who will join Filmore & Union's board as non-executive chair.
Filmore & Union joins UK-based restaurant chains Bar Soba, Barburrito and Giggling Squid in BGF's portfolio.
In 2015 Filmore & Union launched a crowdfunding campaign via the platform Crowdcube, raising £865,000.
