Downing VCTs back Empiribox
UK venture investor Downing has backed teacher training business Empiribox with a ТЃ1m investment.
The capital, drawn from Downing's venture capital trusts, will be used to support the firm's existing operations and drive new business growth.
Richard McGrath has joined Empiribox as non-executive chairman as part of the transaction. McGrath previously led Espresso Education Group, a provider of digital content for primary schools.
Company
Set up in 2014, Empiribox provides 150 UK primary schools with training, lesson plans, support and equipment. It focuses exclusively on science teaching and aims to encourage more students to take STEM subjects at A-level. Empiribox is based in London.
