Circularity and Mustard Seed co-lead $7.4m round for Winnow
Sustainability-focused GP Circularity Capital and impact investor Mustard Seed Ventures have co-led a $7.4m round for Winnow Solutions, a UK-based developer of software for recording and tracking food wastage in the catering industry.
D-Ax, the digital investment arm of Swedish family office Axel Johnson, also acted as co-lead in the funding round.
The fresh capital will fund product development and the rollout of Winnow's software into new international markets.
The deal is the maiden investment for Circularity and comes two years after the GP was founded to target investments in the so-called 'circular economy', which focuses on prolonging resources for as long as possible.
Circularity typically invests £1-5m in profitable companies. Its investors include financial institutions, corporations, family offices and global impact investors, according to a statement.
