SEP invests in Dotmatics
Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has invested in Dotmatics, a provider of data analysis software for scientific testing processes.
Financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed, though a spokesperson for SEP told unquote" the firm invested via Scottish Equity Partners V, which held a final close on £260m in November 2016 and makes investments of up to £25m.
The size of the stake acquired by SEP remains undisclosed, though according to a statement the GP made a "significant investment" in the company.
The fresh capital will enable Dotmatics to invest in product development and recruitment.

Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, Dotmatics provides software for data reporting and analysis. Its products are used in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, academia, food and beverage, oil and gas, and agrochemical sectors. The business has a headcount of around 100, with operations across Europe, the US and the Asia Pacific region.
Dotmatics generated a turnover of £12.8m in 2016, according to publicly available documents, with a pre-tax profit of £2.9m, a year-on-year increase of 33% and 136% respectively.
