
BGF acquires minority stake in Cornwall Insight
BGF has acquired a minority stake in Cornwall Insight, a water and energy sector consultancy.
The investment will be used to accelerate the company's growth plans, expanding into new sectors and geographies, and to drive organic growth. Barclays is providing a term loan facility as part of the investment.
Volker Beckers joined the board as non-executive chair – he also holds board positions at Reactive Technologies, Albion Community Power and Danske Commodities. BGF's Rahul Satsangi will also join the board.
Founder Nigel Cornwall will remain on the board. The deal is BGF's 23rd this year, according to unquote" data, putting it on course for a quieter year after completing 37 last year.

Founded in 2005 and based in Norwich, Cornwall Insights helps customers understand the implications of policy, regulation and market change on business operations. Its analysis covers growth opportunities, compliance, business case formation and modelling, competitor and market intelligence, knowledge capacity building and investment due diligence. It has experienced a double-digit increase in revenue in the past year, according to a statement, and employs around 50 people.
