
Global Founders leads $14.75m series-A for DigitalGenius
Global Founders Capital has led a $14.75m series-A funding round for UK-based customer service communication platform DigitalGenius.
New investors MMC Ventures and Paua Ventures also took part in the round, alongside existing backers including Salesforce Ventures, Runa Capital, RRE Ventures, Lumia Capital, Compound and Lerer Hippeau Ventures.
The business will use the fresh funding to invest in product development and marketing activity.
According to a statement, the latest investment brings the total amount raised by the company to $26m.
As part of the deal, DigitalGenius appointed Roque Versace, formerly head of software-as-a-servicce sales at Intel, as its chief revenue officer.
Previous funding
Runa led a seed funding round for DigitalGenius in April 2016.

Headquartered in London and founded in 2013, DigitalGenius is a text-based customer service communication platform. It provides automated answers to customer queries based on AI software, and provides customer-service staff with suggested answers for all other queries.
DigitalGenius's clients include KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Unilever, Eurostar, Soylent and TravelBird.
