SEP injects £25m into Redwood
Venture firm Scottish Equity Partners (SEP) has invested £25m in Redwood Technologies Group, a UK-based provider of communications technology and cloud contact centre services.
SEP secured a minority stake in the business. It invested via its SEP V fund, which closed on £260m in late 2016. The investment sits at the upper end of SEP's typical range, with the vehicle usually deploying up to £20m per deal.
SEP partner Andrew Davison has joined the board of Redwood.
The growth investor stated it had initiated contact with Redwood three years ago, and saw it as a good addition to its enterprise software investment portfolio. It will look to help the business grow internationally.
It is the first external investment received by Redwood since inception 25 years ago.
Company
Headquartered in Bracknell, Redwood owns cloud communications provider Content Guru. It provides cloud communication and customer engagement services, and operates across channels including voice, email, chat, web forms, social, text, video and Internet-of-Things.
Redwood posted a £19m turnover and £4.2m EBITDA in 2016.
