
Gilde leads €40m series-C for Fire1
Gilde Healthcare has led a €40m series-C funding round for Irish remote monitoring medical devices business Foundry Innovation & Research 1 (Fire1).
Gimv, Seventure Partners, New Enterprise Associates, Lightstone Ventures and Medtronic also took part in the round, which will fund product development.
As part of the deal, Gilde partner Janke Dittmer will take a seat on the Fire1 board of directors.
The deal is the first investment made by the GP in an Irish company.
Previous funding
Lightstone and New Enterprise led a €6.6m series-B funding round for the business in April 2016.

Headquartered in Dublin and founded in 2013, Fire1 is a remote monitoring medical devices business. Its first product monitors heart failure patients and tracks disease trajectory with the aim of reducing the need for hospitalisation.
