Tenzing's Smoothwall makes first bolt-on with Future Digital
Leeds-based web filtering technology provider Smoothwall, backed by Tenzing, has acquired digital safeguarding company Future Digital.
Tenzing is understood to have supported the bolt-on, which is the first for Smoothwall since being backed by the GP last year.
The lower-mid-market investor bought Leeds-based web filtering technology provider Smoothwall in October last year. Tenzing held a final close for its maiden fund on its £200m hard-cap in January 2017, after three months on the road. The fund targets buyout investments in UK businesses valued at up to £75m.
Tenzing stated that Future Digital's cloud-based monitoring service would complement Smoothwall's Visigo offering, enabling the business to offer a wider range of safeguarding products.
Company
Established in the early 2000s, Future Digital offers digital safeguarding services – its active monitoring products are used in schools, the public sector and law enforcement agencies. They are designed to ensure that teachers and offender management services have full visibility of what is happening online.
The company is based in Christchurch, Dorset.
