BGF injects £3m into DevOpsGroup
BGF has invested £3m in Wales-based DevOpsGroup, a provider of engineering-related IT consultancy and training.
The deal will fund the acquisition of Cardiff-based training firm AgileSnap. Following the merger, AgileSnap CEO James Harvey will lead the consolidated group's academy business unit, with the intention of addressing the IT skills gap in the engineering industry.
The transaction is the GP's first Welsh investment since launching its Cardiff office in February.
BGF has introduced Prince's Trust committee member and former Fairsale CEO Adam Hale as chairperson at DevOpsGroup and Athena Alliance CEO Coco Brown as international board adviser. The group has also appointed its longstanding adviser Paul Heywood as non-executive director and James Henderson, formerly of PwC, as chief financial officer. BGF investor Alex Garfitt will take a seat on the DevOpsGroup board of directors.
