BGF injects £10m into Mission Mars
BGF has invested £10m in Mission Mars, the operator of a number of food and drink venues in the north-west of the UK.
BGF's funding will go towards supporting the business as it opens additional sites across the UK. Plans include launching Manchester-based Albert's Schloss in other major cities in the UK, and rolling out Rudy's Neapolitan pizzerias across the country, with an initial focus on the north of England.
In parallel with the fresh investment, Mission Mars has also appointed Matt Davies, the former CEO of Tesco and Pets at Home, as non-executive chair.
Company
Mission Mars was launched in 2015 with a portfolio of sites including Trof, Gorilla and The Deaf Institute. It eventually developed concepts including Albert's Schloss and Rudy's Neapolitan Pizza, and today operates 10 sites across the the north-west of the UK.
Mission Mars is led by Roy Ellis and Neil Macleod, who previously founded and built up the Revolution bar chain. It generates sales of around £30m.
