BGF injects £6.3m into Molson
BGF has invested £6.3m in UK-based construction equipment distribution company Molson Construction Equipment.
Molson will use the fresh capital to pursue bolt-on opportunities, as well as to build a new national parts centre and additional depots across the UK.
The company has undertaken an acquisitive growth strategy in recent years, most recently in June this year when it acquired Finlay Group, an equipment dealer of Terex Finlay products for England and Wales.
As part of the deal, BGF has introduced Weldex International and CSH Surrey chairperson Bill Caplan as non-executive chair at Molson.
Company
Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Bristol, Molson distributes excavators, dump trucks, dozers, demolition rigs and wheeled loaders for use in the construction industry, in addition to providing maintenance services and spare parts. It also designs and manufactures wood processing, biomass and recycling equipment under the Molson Green brand.
Molson generates a turnover of around £155m, according to a statement, and has a headcount of 200. It has additional operations in Warrington, London, Kent, Stratford-upon-Avon and Doune.
